MUSCLE BUILDING: An Addiction or A Healthy Obsession?

MTV's new hit reality show "Jersey Shore" has made the terms
'Guido,' 'Guidette' and 'Juicehead' household names. Even
people who haven't heard them are consumed with the ideas
behind them-fi tness and building muscle.
'Meatheads' is another commonly used word, thanks to "Jersey
Shore," used to describe a person who frequently lifts weights
at the gym.

Anthony's Reply

Posted: 3/10/10 @ 10:09 AM EST
By: Anthony

Alex Harkess is WAY OFF. Anyone who reads this should ignore this kid's opinion. Despite what this inexperienced kid says, you don't lose your muscles after taking creatine.

It's outdated beliefs like these that continue to confuse beginners just getting into the iron game.

As for him talking about being dehydrated -- what do you expect when you workout out a few hours for swim practice then spend hours after school at football practice?

This kid was certainly over training. If he was so thirsty he should have drank 3 gallons of water with as much physical activity he was doing.

Who ever reads this, do yourself a favor and look up natural bodybuilders who have been using creatine their entire career -- guys who have devoted their LIVES to building muscle and losing body fat -- not some high school kid who took creatine for a few months.

Need proof? Look up guys like Skip La Cour, Jeff Willet, or Jeff Rodriguez.

These OUTDATED myths about creatine need to stop!

how to build muscle and lose body fat, build muscle, fat loss, weight loss, bodybuilding, natural bodybuilding

Muscle Building's Reply

Posted: 4/30/10 @ 5:05 PM EST
By: Muscle Building

I think it's important to make sure that muscle building remains healthy and not an obsession. Taking various supplements like protein and creatine in moderation if fine in my opinion, but you need to know what you're doing. I.e. 99% of protein powders are actually heated way too high during the process and that burns off most of the vital amino acids etc...I've recently found a cold processed protein and get amazing results from it becuase all of the proteins and amino acids remain. Anyways, I think safe weight lighting (HIT workouts are my favourite) combined with safe supplements and nutrition is best for you and your health.
